Samantha Gresham, LMSW
Samantha is a Licensed Master Social Worker with extensive experience working with individuals, couples, and families as they navigate grief and end of life. In her previous work as a hospice clinician, she has supported individuals as they cope with end of life as well as supporting their families as they experience anticipatory grief and caregiving stressors.
She is also an educator who teaches a course on Death, Dying, and Grief as an adjunct professor in effort to lessen stigma around talking and thinking about these concepts, with hope to provide the students with the tools to engage with difficult experiences with a sense of empowerment and education. These tools are also used in her clinical work.
Samantha understands and believes that grief is interwoven throughout our lives and that honoring the grief we experience can allow us to move with the grief, rather than against it. She believes strongly in meeting people with compassion, dignity, and unconditional positive regard.
She has experience working with children, teens, and adults. She has supported children with terminal diagnosis, their siblings and parents, adults of all ages experiencing the impact of a terminal diagnosis or those grieving a loved one. Samantha understands that grief, like all experiences, can coexist with complex and sometimes conflicting emotions and perspectives. She will work to provide a non-judgmental environment that will allow clients to feel the freedom and safety necessary to explore and process their experiences in a meaningful, healing, and productive way. To support clients in achieving this she utilizes CBT and ACT.
